Diamond
Head

This is a touristy place that is fun to go to, and only
takes a couple hours. Volcanic activity created
761-foot-tall Diamond Head, located on Waikiki's eastern
border. It is a "tuff cone," formed some
100,000 years ago when an eruption of volcanic ash
eventually hardened into solid rock. It is worth
the 25 minute hike to the top of the crater, to get a
full view of Honolulu, and all of it's glory. The
hike is fun, and is not to hard.

There are rails to hold on to where it gets rough.
There a few tunnels that you have to walk through, and
for some reason, there are no lights in these tunnels.
The tunnels are long, and in some areas in the tunnel,
it can be completely pitch dark. For this reason,
you will want to bring a good flashlight with you for
this hike.

Here
is a view from the top. A camera cannot capture
the awesome panoramic view of Oahu from here. You
will have to witness it for yourself.
