Waikiki Beachside Hostel

This is my favorite
youth hostel in Waikiki. It is
located in the heart of Waikiki, on Lemon Street, a half
block away from the beach. There are plenty of
restaurants, stores, and shops all in the immediate
walking distance from here. There is a lot of
activity going on in this immediate vicinity.
There are 3 or 4
youth hostels on Lemon Street, all right next
to each other, and I stayed in 2 of them, this one
included.
This is a 4-story hostel that looks like a
converted hotel. They have 8-bed dorms for $20.
I stayed in the 4-bed dorm for $25. I recommend
spending the extra $5 for the extra space.
My room looked basically like a hotel room. The
room was extremely clean, and had its own little
kitchen area, including a sink, stove, refrigerator, and
microwave. There was plenty of space for my
backpacks, including a common closet. Inside the
closet was a safe which you could use for an extra
charge. The bathroom was roomy and very clean I
give it a bathroom rank of 9. Not only did
they provide linens, but my bed was made. They
also provide clean shower towels. There were
windows that allowed good ventilation that made for nice
sleeping at night. Being a popular hostel, and
right in the heart of Waikiki, it could occasionally get
a little noisy at night but nothing to be overly
concerned about.
The hostel has many amenities. They
have free airport pickup. For an extra $5 a day,
you can park your car inside their secure parking area.
There is room for about 8-10 cars. They have a
brand new 11-computer internet cafe with the latest
equipment, including flat-panel screens. You never
have to wait to use a computer. They have very
large outside lockers you could rent for $3. One
of these lockers could hold all of my stuff, plus a
couple cases of beer. They have a large clean
social meeting area on the first floor with plenty of
chairs, tables and couches for everyone, and a brand new
big-screen television. They have washer/dryers
available. They also have boogie boards, snorkel
equipment, and other beach accessories to rent for the
day if you are headed to the beach. For $25, this
is the best deal in town.

I stayed in a semi-private room for a couple days for
$45 per night. The reason they are semi-private is
because although the room you stay in is private,
outside that room, you share the bathroom and kitchen
with up to two other people. This is the best deal
in town for a couple on a budget. The room comes
with a private outside balcony.
